Standard robots are the most common used. The standard robots do not have any integrated safety and therefor requires a safety mesh or similar around the robot. The standard robots are specially known from automatic palletizing. It is typically a good solution for palatizing application because it is cheaper than the alternative. But it also requires a lot of space.
Collaborative robots also known as Cobots have the advantage that safety is integrated in the robot. Therefore, safety mesh is not required around the robot. This means that the robot can be installed in places where operators also work. The robot can be installed in places where there is not much space, for example in existing production lines with limited space.
